Successful start for LAPUA at Biathlon WCs

 

Successful start for LAPUA at the Biathlon World Cups in Östersund (Sweden) and Hochfilzen (Austria).

At the first IBU World Cup of this Olympic Winter Season, LAPUA ammunition was the clear choice of the winners in Östersund. 15 of the 18 medals were won by athletes using cartidges manufactured by Lapua.

The best performances at the World Cup in Sweden gave the Norwegians Ole Einar Bjoerndalen and Emil Hegle Svendsen, but also the strong Swedish girls Helena Jonsson (World Cup winner of the season 2008/09) and her team mate Anna Carin Olofsson-Zidek – all with Polar Biathlon.

Also, at the 2nd IBU World Cup location in Hochfilzen, 5 of the 6 gold medals were won with LAPUA. Ole Einar Bjoerndalen won his 90th title, ahead of the strong Russians Nicolay Kruglov and Evgeny Ustugov (all three with Polar Biathlon), in the sprint race. Also, Helena Jonsson and Anna Carin Olofsson-Zidek had perfect results, as well as on the track and on the shooting range by the podium. But for the Austrian spectators, the 2nd place of Simon Eder at 12,5km Pursuit and, one day later, the great victory at Men 4 x 7,5km Relay, were most important.
