Silhouette World Championship 2026 arrives in Heinola this July
The Silhouette World Championship 2026 is set to bring the world’s top silhouette shooters to Finland this summer. Hosted by the Finnish Metallsilhuette Association and Heinolan Ampujat, the championship will take place at the scenic Pikijärvi Shooting Range in Heinola from 8–18 July 2026. With a full program of handgun, rifle, airgun, and team events, the competition promises ten days of world‑class marksmanship in one of Finland’s most beautiful regions.
The competition includes a full range of silhouette events:
Big Bore Handgun — production, revolver, standing, unlimited
Small Bore Handgun — production, revolver, standing, unlimited
Field Pistol — production, any sight
Small Bore Rifle — open sight light, silhouette, scoped (80‑shot matches)
Big Bore Rifle — hunting and silhouette
Air Rifle

All matches consist of 40 shots, except scoped small‑bore rifle events, which are 80 shots. Shoot‑offs are decided with 5 shots, and rifle targets will be white to ensure optimal visibility.
Competitors may also pursue several aggregate titles, including Big Bore Handgun Aggregate, Small Bore Handgun Aggregate (with a Junior U20 category), Field Pistol Aggregate, Handgun Standing Aggregate, Small Bore Rifle Aggregate (with Junior U20), and Big Bore Rifle Aggregate. Team aggregates are offered across all major disciplines.
The championship opens on 8 July, designated as the official arrival and training day.
Training continues on 9 July, giving athletes time to finalize their setups and prepare for competition.
From 10 to 17 July, the event moves into eight consecutive days of competition across all silhouette categories.
The championship concludes on 18 July, when shoot‑offs are held and the Awards Ceremony takes place.
Located approximately 130 km from Helsinki Airport, Heinola is a lively small city known for its lakes, forests, and strong sporting culture. With around 20,000 residents, Heinola offers visitors a welcoming atmosphere, excellent services, and effortless access to nature.
