Olympic Champion Johannes Thingnes Boe visits Biathlon Camp for juniors
The Finnish Biathlon Association arranges a youth camp, the “Biahtlon Carnival”, in Vuokatti in Finland every summer. The four-day-event welcomes young biathletes and any kids interested in the sport, regardless of their experience level. The camp focuses on developing the fundamental biathlon skills, with a particular emphasis on shooting. The event provides an excellent opportunity for participants and their families to get to know one another in a fun and easy-going atmosphere, while strengthening the social side of the sport among young athletes of the same age.
Lapua is a partner of the Finnish Biathlon Association and proud to support the event. This year, we were able to bring something extra special to the camp kids and their families. The GOAT of biathlon, multiple Olympic Champion Johannes Thingnes Boe visited the camp for two days, watching the youngsters practice, giving advice and answering questions, and naturally also signing hats, books and rifles and posing for photos. He also participated in a fun shooting challenge against three athletes on the Finnish biathlon national team; Sonja Leinamo, Arttu Heikkinen and Tuomas Harjula. While the competition was fierce, the vibe was relaxed and a lot of smiles and laughter all around. It is safe to say that for many camp-goers and their families, this camp was an experience they won’t forget!
The team at Lapua wishes to thank the organizers, especially Lauri Elo and Matilda Suhonen at the Finnish Biathlon Association for a well-managed, fun and inspiring event, and Johannes for his enthusiastic participation and support!
