The Lapua Monarch Cup, in its third year, is a two-part series of smallbore standard rifle silhouette matches contested in the USA and either Canada or Mexico. In 2023, the cup featured a three-matches taking place in each participating country, for a total of 6 matches.
“After feedback received from participants from last year, we’re excited to announce a few changes to the match in 2024,” stated Erich Mietenkorte, Lapua Monarch Board Member. “The next evolution of the Lapua Monarch Cup will be two matches instead of three. The board of directors would like the Lapua Monarch Cup to be sustainable and accessible to as many shooters as possible while maintaining matches that are worthy of the prestige that the Lapua Monarch Cup brings. This means more prizes from our amazing sponsors at each match and larger payouts. Plus, less travel obligations.”
The Lapua Monarch Cup is centered around the annual US Smallbore Rifle Silhouette National Championships, with the second hosting country selected through proposal process. Schedule for 2024 is as follows:
- 1st Match – NRA Smallbore Rifle Silhouette National Championship
- Ridgway Rifle Club, Ridgway, PA, USA
- July 28-30, 2024
- 2nd Match – Lapua Monarch Cup
- Club De Tiro Saltillo Safari, Saltillo, Coahuila, México
- October 5-6, 2024
Competitors earn scores from each match within their respective classification (Master, AAA, AA, & A), giving all shooters an opportunity for $25,000 in cash prizes to be distributed within the two countries.
