The Lapua Gong Shoot, organized by Lowvelt Hunters and Normark, was held on September 19th to 20th at the scenic Dawson’s Lodge, surrounded by the beautiful South-African wilderness. The two-day event was attended by 88 shooters.
The Gong Shoot is arranged on ten firing lines each with three gongs at distances ranging from 300 meters / yds to 1,000 m / yds. Each shooter has three shots per gong, meaning 90 shots in total. The winner and 1st lady was Tara Steyn with a total of 2733.3 points, followed by Simon Steyn with 2662.7 in second and JC Robertson with 2602.6 points in third.
