First Medals for Lapua in the Biathlon Sprint races in Vancouver

The first discipline in biathlon was the 7.5km Woman´s sprint race. Anastazia Kuzmina (SVK), with selected Lapua X-Act, won the Olympic title with 1.5 sec before Magdalena Neuner (GER), with Lapua Polar Biathlon, and Marie Dorin from France. Anastazia (1/0) was behind Magdalena (0/1) after the second shooting, but her strong performance and perfect material on the last lap were the key for her first Gold medal in the Olympics.

The 10km Men´s sprint was won by the French Vincent Jay before Emil Hegle Svendsen (NOR) and Jakov Fak (CRO) Emil Hegle Svendsen, with selected Lapua Polar Bithlon, was starting on place 10 and he was the last athlete who had a chance to win a medal. Wind, rain and strong snow fall affected all the other starters and their chance to get a place on the podium. Vincent Jay (0/0), Emil Hegle Svendsen (0/1) and Jakov Fak (0/0) with Lapua Polar Biathlon used their chance today and won with excellent performances on the track and in the shooting.
