Gold Medals and Success since 1930.

The Lapua cartridges have been used to win numerous world records and gold medals in international and national competitions. This list covers mainly World Championship and Olympic Championship medals.

300m European Cup Final in Winterthur

Lapua was used to win all gold medals in the competition, additionally 14 out ot 18 medals were shot with Lapua 6mm BR.


CISM military shooting World Championship games 2006, Elverum, Norway

Team Norway was the best in the CISM military shooting World Championship games in Elverum, Norway (Military Rapid Fire Rifle Men Team Competition). All team members used the Lapua΄s 6mm BR cartridges. Lapua congratulates the winners and hopes for success in upcoming competitions as well.

Lapua was the most used cartridge brand in the CISM games in 2006.

2005

Biathlon season 2004-2005

The Biathlon season 2004-2005 was a success for Lapua cartridges. Altogether 161 medals were given, and more than 60% were achieved with Lapua cartridges. More than 80% of the biathlonists in top level trust on the Lapua .22 cartridges.

Europe Cup final in Switzerland, in September

Juha Hirvi shot a New European Record in Europe Cup finals in Switzerland!
300 m new European record is 1 180 points (400+387+393). The result is two points over the current World Record, but World Records can not be made in European Cup games.

Lahti World Championship games
• Gold Medal, Charlotte Jacobsen (DEN, women΄s rifle (prone) and 3x20 shots)
• Gold Medal, Byung Taek Park (KOR, pistol).

Charlotte Jacobsen shot a New World Record in both disciplines. Byung equaled the current World Record.

• Silver Medal, Tomas Jerabek (CZE, prone), Milan Mach (CZE, std. rifle)
• Silver Medal, Helena Juppala (FIN, women 3x20 shots)
• Bronze Medal, Arild Roeyseth (NOR, std. rifle)
• Bronze Medal, Tomas Jerabek (CZE, rifle 3x40 shots)
• Bronze Medal, Sang Hak Lee (KOR, pistol).

Lapua cartridges won half the medals in personal competitions. Nine medals out of 18 were shot with Lapua: 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. The amount equals other manufacturers medals altogether.

Most team competitors used other manufacturer΄s cartridges. However, the Czech team used Lapua cartridges and won the team competition 3x40 shots with a New World Record, and got silver in the standard rifle competition.

In pistol Korea won the World Championship and Norway became second. All the team members in both teams used Lapua cartridges.

Lapua cartridges are the first choice of the competitors: more than 60% of the pistol shooters used the Lapua .32 cartridges in the Ankara CISM competition.

Biathlon season 1999 – 2000

The Ukranian and Swedish Biathlon teams (among others) used the Lapua rimfire cartridges (Midas, Master, Multi Match AND Polar Biathlon). In the 1999 - 2000 Biahtlon season the Ukranian team achieved 19 medals, of which 6 gold medals in World Championship Games and World Cup competitions.

The Biathlon World Cup final results: First place for Swedish Magdalena Forsberg and second pace for Ukranian Olena Zubrilova. Both use Lapua cartridges also during the 2000-2001 season.

1994

World Championship Games in Milan
• Nine Gold Medals with Lapua cartridges.
The Finnish rifle team in Milan (Jukka Salonen, Tapio Sδynevirta and Kalle Leskinen) shot a great New World Record: 1787 points in 300 meter free rifle competition. This result was shot with Lapua .308 Win Scenar cartridge.

In Milan the .22 LR Lapua Dominator cartridge achieved:
• 6 Gold Medals
• 3 Silver Medals
• 2 Bronze Medals

In the standard pistol team competition the Finnish team won the gold medal with Lapua Dominator and Lapua Pistol King cartridges. In the personal competition Seppo Mδkinen won the bronze medal with the .22 LR Master cartridge. In the centerfire pistol competition the gold and silver medals were won with the Lapua .32 S&W LWC cartridges.

Military shooting World Championship games in Lausanne
• Gold Medal to a Korean shooter in 25 m centerfire pistol
• 2 Gold Medals for team Norway in 25 m centerfire pistol and std rifle team competition 3 x 20 ls
